Texas Hold'em Tournament @ Jammers Grill and Pub
Ever dream of being like those guys from the World Series of Poker? Well, even they had to get their start somewhere. This could be the big break you’ve been looking for, if only you could work on that poker face a little. Better practice in the mirror. Registration starts at 7 p.m. and the game starts at 8 p.m., but get there early for the happy hour. Poker and $5 domestic pitchers? Oh yeah. 21+

An Evening With the Zombies @ the Smiling Dog Saloon
No, this isn’t a “Dawn of the Dead” tribute, but it very well could be. While cover ranges anywhere from $3-$5, showing up in your best zombie gear gets you in for free. As you’re mingling with your fellow zombies, DJ’s Mad Bastard, Resident Evil and Vertigologist spin all night long. It almost makes you want to say, “Mmm…brains...” 10 p.m.- 2 a.m.; $5 for under 21, $3 over 21.
Gargamel! with Second Head @ Martini's
For a group that named itself after a character from the Smurfs, Orlando-based funk metal band Gargamel! (and yes, the exclamation point is there on purpose) certainly knows how to rock. They’ve got a franticly loyal fan base up “North” and last year they took second place in Orlando Weekly’s Best of Orlando issue. Show starts at 9 p.m.; 21+.
Saturday, June 16
After all that moshing on Friday, why not let the bruises heal Saturday night at Sway? Don’t worry, there won’t be any crowd surfing here, but you can bet there will be plenty of top shelf liquor and music. Sit back and relax or dance the night away. If you hate $10 covers as much as I do, get there before 10 p.m. 21+.
Food Not Bombs Benefit Show @ Sundown's Sports Grill
Even if you prefer bombs over food, this show’s only five bucks, and considering how rare a good punk show is in this town, there’s no reason not to go check it out. Hell, bring a non-perishable vegetarian food item and you can get in for free. Featuring Victim Youth, Second Becky and Code Zero, it should be a good show for a good cause. 9 p.m.; all ages.
Worth the Drive
Honda Civic Tour: Friday, June 15th, Tampa.
With a lineup featuring Fall Out Boy, Paul Wall and Cobra Starship, this has got to be one of the most random tours ever assembled. But hey, even if you hate Fall Out Boy, gangsta rappers and those guys from Snakes On a Plane, the real reason why this tour is worth shelling out 35 bucks for is the band +44, featuring Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker. They might be played out now, but at least they knew something about rock back in the day. 5 p.m. at the Ford Amphitheatre in Tampa; $35.

Coastalbeat in Your Coffee @ Bayshore Coffee Company
If you missed our last party you’re probably sick with regret, and you should be. But swig some Pepto Bismol, pop a few sugar-coated Advil and get your party hat ready, cause we’re back with another fiesta on Friday, June 22nd at Bayshore Coffee Company in Naples. Fort Myers-based funk junkies Pond Water Experiment will provide musical social lubricant and drink specials should take care of the rest. As always the MONEY$HOTS crew will be in the house and there’ll be free T-shirts a plenty. Yippee! 8 p.m. – 11 p.m.
