Live X ‘09
What: Annual concert featuring national recording artists
When: Saturday, 4 - 11 p.m.
Where: City of Palms Park, Fort Myers
Cost: $35 advance; $45 day of show
Seven rock bands and an outdoor venue await those planning to take in Live X ’09.
The annual concert will be staged this Saturday at City of Palms Park in downtown Fort Myers. Though it’s billed as an “all-day rock music festival,” gates open at 4 p.m. and the bands start at 4:30 p.m. The promoters New Rock 99X, WjBX-FM, a Beasley Broadcast Radio Station, have promised the city fathers that the music will end by 11 p.m.
Heading the bill this year will be Staind, Chevelle, Nonpoint, Madina Lake and Cavo. Those national recording artists will be joined by two local bands — Cinder and Ekotren.
Tickets are $35 in advance and can be purchased online at the station’s Web site: www.99xonline.com as well as at various merchants in Lee County. You can check the list on the station’s Web site.
Tickets at the gate will cost $45. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Thousands attend the annual Live X events and there are a list of rules for the outdoor festival:
No coolers, lawn chairs or umbrellas.
Beer will be available, but you must be 21.
No videography, cameras or binoculars.
No signs of any kind.
No smoking under tents.
And, oh yeah, no moshing.
