NAPLES — Chef Brian Collaro is the son of an Italian butcher who started his culinary journey with hands-on- experience and word-of-mouth traditions passed down through the generations. Collaro’s love of experimentation and simple but natural foods brought him to Whole Foods Market 11 years ago where he rose through the ranks to become the Regional Prepared Foods Coordinator. He oversees all chef prepared foods for the chain’s Florida region and brings his flair for turning the classics into new and exciting creations with a focus on using natural, organic and seasonal ingredients.
See Collaro grill a filet, ribeye, T-bone and New York strip steak and demonstrate the difference between each one in the instructional video attached to the story. He’ll explain what makes a good steak and the art of grilling to get a rare, medium and well-done piece of meat.
