BONITA SPRINGS — Artistic expression was the name of the game at the fourth in a series of Art Fairs, held by the Side Street Artists.
The organization consists of local area artists, seeking the opportunity to show and trade their works of art. The works presented were inclusive of many mediums, oil painting, glass and crystal sculpture, jewelry, photography and many others.
The event was held at the Bonita Shores Club in the city of Bonita Springs. A brisk crowd was on hand to view and buy at the event.
The group’s current director M.E. Parker, has been at the position for the last three years, while being a resident of the area for fifty years. Parker stated that the primary motivation for such events and the group itself is to provide an opportunity for area artists to get their work out to the public at affordable prices and in a community setting.
The organizational theme is reflected in their motto, “Supporting our community, one artist at a time.” The age and experience levels of the various artists was wide ranged and diverse; from those who have studied for years to those who picked it up as, a “Gift from God,” according to one accomplished artist.
