BONITA SPRINGS — The 2011 Celebrate Bonita! Festival marked the city's birthday on April 2.
Events included a full day of musical entertainment, children's activities and community events. Delicacies including funnel cakes were on sale.
Children romped in a large kids activity area, patrons sampled the spicy foods at a chili cook-off and enjoyed the warm Florida sunshine.
Performers included pop rock band Screaming Orphans, the Southern rock sounds of Jimmie Van Zant and New Odyssey billed as "Three Men and 30 Instruments." Local bands Jay Frost & Three Below and Townsmen Big Band Orchestra also performed.
While admission was free, proceeds from food and beverages sales goes to benefit the Bonita Springs Assistance Office.
