The 17th Annual Royal Easter Egg Hunt drew in crowds eager to get their hands on the 20, 516 eggs offered at the event.

— On Saturday, April 23rd hundreds of participants were able to hunt over 20, 5000 candy filled Easter eggs.

David and Sarah Zimmerman, the owners of Royal Scoop Ice Cream, helped to host the event at First Baptist Church on Vanderbilt Drive south of Bonita Beach Road for its 17th year in a row.

The event was paid a visit from the Easter Bunny who posed for pictures and handed out candy.

A series of relay races took place to accompany the hunt: The cone carry, the egg and spoon race, the bunny hop and the egg toss using raw eggs.

At the conclusion of the games, children up to ten years of age were served one single scoop of vanilla homemade ice cream to participate in the ice cream eating contest.

Winners of the event received gift certificates for Royal Scoop and other participants were able to test out their luck at a raffle that consisted of three large Easter baskets.
