— Casa Mia Italian Steakhouse is going all out for the 2011 holiday season and owners Maria and Tony Brock are spreading their wings with lots of exciting things planned in their spacious new location at 1000 N. Collier Blvd. in Heritage Square Shopping Mall.

For starters, a wonderful new executive chef Ettore Laccetti is now on board and has created a fantastic new menu to showcase the fresh pasta and classic sauces he prepares daily in Casa Mia’s kitchen, said Maria Brock.

“We’re very excited to be in our new and much larger location where we can offer our guests first class entertainment and food. We welcome everyone to come and enjoy the finest in gourmet cuisine featured in the new menu created by our new executive chef Ettore,” said Maria, noting that the pasta is prepared from scratch daily with the freshest, quality ingredients just like everything else on the new menu.

Chef Ettore, a native of Abruzzi, Italy, is descended from his famous family of Abruzzi restaurateurs and learned his profession in the family trattoria’s as a teenager until he moved to the New York area where he worked in several restaurants, among them Vivi’s in North Jersey.

He is no stranger to fine dining and is equally well known Southwest Florida for working in and opening successful gourmet restaurants and then selling them, especially Marco Island’s fine restaurant community where he opened DaVinci’s and subsequently sold to the present owners.

He is equally esteemed as chef in Naples where he recently worked in Ristorante D’Angeli and Roman Bread Oven as well as owned top drawer restaurants such as Michelangelo’s in downtown Naples before coming to Casa Mia Italian Steakhouse.

Most recently the chef and Emeril cooked together at the celebrity chef welcome dinner for the Naples Winter Wine Festival. Chef Ettore prepared one of his signature fresh pasta dishes, Gnocchi Tri Color, homemade potato dumplings with spinach, sundried tomatoes in a sensual, light creamy Gorgonzola sauce.

Incidentally, that’s exactly as it’s described in the fabulous menu that chef Ettore created for Casa Mia that Marco Islanders will be able to enjoy when they dine at the restaurant and savor the many kinds of antipasti, insalate, zuppe pasta, carne, pollo, pesce, pork, beef and hundred more delectable food items to numerous to mention, including a Little Tyke’s Menu and Maria’s famous dessert selections — you’ll just have to come and see for yourself.

There’s a lot more to look forward to at Casa Mia for the upcoming holiday season.

Wednesday and Saturday during season Johnny Fusco sings his heart out. Thursday and Friday Casa Mia’s New York Reggie is back sporting new tunes and new hats.Marco Islanders are invited to fill up the new dance floor, check out the new large bar furnished with lots of tables to enjoy the entertainment, said Maria.

“On Monday, Dec. 19, the Opera Naples Carolers are coming to Casa Mia from 6 to 8 p.m. all dressed in Old English costumes to sing Christmas carols in the dining rooms. The show is free to the public as an appreciation holiday gift to our loyal patrons and new folks on the island,” she said.

Also, Sunday, Jan. 29, Casa Mia is presenting its fifth annual, all new “Pasta and Puccini Opera Dinner Theatre”, including a six-course gourmet meal including chardonnay, merlot, and cabernet flowing all evening (prix fixe $85.) The vocalists are from Opera Naples Core, and reservations are a must — the event is always sold-out. Reservations may be made with an active credit card by calling (239) 642-5253.
