— Let the good times flow is the least to be said for the inaugural Morgan House Beerfest of 2011.

The event was a Saturday, June 11 fund raising effort by the restaurant, which is located at 33 Patio de Leon in downtown Fort Myers.

The Morgan House Restaurant has been in Fort Myers for more than eighteen years. It has been at its current location for only ten months with newly completed renovations by current owners Michael and Patti Price.

The business is a family affair with sons Corry, Aaron, and Mike working respectively as chef, sous chef and bartender at the four dinning room and three bar establishment. It features and upstairs indoor outdoor bar and restaurant as well as outdoor lower bar and restaurant. The business also employs sixty people, and is operating an additional catering company.

The Brewfest is only one of many fund raising events held by the restaurant. The selected non profit organizations helped through this event are the Susan G. Komen For The Cure Breast Cancer program and Brightest Horizons Child Development Center.

The event was sponsored by Budweiser and Suncoast Beverage Sales Limited, featuring many microbrew labels and beverages, which were featured at the event.

The Morgan House participates regularly in helping agencies such as the Heart Association, Boys and Girls Club and Cancer awareness and treatment programs. The restaurant is currently planning an event to be held in July for additional charitable causes.

During the event period over one hundred patrons passed though the event to try the brews or enjoy the entertainment, which was provided by Memphis 56.

The restaurant also features live entertainment three nights of the week at the restaurant. 10% of all proceeds from the event which was held from four to six p.m. will be donated directly to the previously mentioned programs of this event.
