The Naples Art Association will close out the 54th season of Art in the Park on Saturday, April 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Shoppers and art enthusiasts will have the opportunity to mingle with Naples Art Association members to discuss their craft and inspiration. There will be a wide range of media including photography, paintings, glasswork, sculptures, jewelry and more.
Glass artist, Katherine French, will be on hand providing demonstrations on how to create unique glass beads. Since 2003, French has been making handmade beads with Italian, German and American glass. With over 200 different color rods of glass, she melts layers of glass to create one-of-a-kind beads with unique colors and textures. Beads made during this demonstration will be donated to the “Beads of Courage Program,” which is designed to support and strengthen the protective resources in children coping with serious illness. Through the program, children tell their story using colorful beads as meaningful symbols of courage that commemorate milestones they have achieved along their unique treatment path.
Art in the Park is located to the west of The von Liebig Art Center at 585 Park Street in Naples. Admission is free. Art in the Park is generously sponsored by Steve Stolz/Edward Jones Financial Advisor, Florida Weekly and Happenings A&E magazine. For more information, call 239-262-6517 or visit naplesart.org.
