— Live music, tasty food and beverages, simulcast horse racing action from Churchill Downs and our typical superb weather marked Derby Day at the Naples-Fort Myers Greyhound Track.

A large crowd of 4000 attended and were expected to wager a whopping 1 million on the day's events.

A glance in any direction and you might have felt you were in fact in the Bluegrass state as ladies adorned themselves in colorful derby day hats and dresses.

Mint juleps were poured at record speed and the tv screens were mobbed as race time neared.

Afterwards normal greyhound racing ensued and it was a real pleasure to see people flock towards the adoption area where just finished racers were there to "meet" the crowd.
