Cops and Joggers 5K: Running from the cops never felt so good

— The Fort Myers Police Department will have its fourth annual “Cops and Joggers” 5K run Saturday morning.

The race, which begins at 7:30 a.m. at Centennial Park, also ends at the park along the river in historic downtown Fort Myers.

The 3.1-mile run will cross the Edison Bridge and venture through some great local scenery.

Proceeds from this year’s race will benefit the department’s Fallen Officer Memorial Fund and The Brotherhood Ride. Joggers can register online at

The entry fee is $20 for adults and $15 for youth, if registered on or before Sept. 29. Joggers can also register at the race for $30.
