Restaurants open New Year's Day
The following are some local restaurants that will be open on Tuesday:
■ Agave Southwestern Grill, 2380 Vanderbilt Beach Road, North Naples, will celebrate New Year's Day with an all-inclusive buffet brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with a Bloody Maria/Mary and draft beer bar for $32, plus tax and gratuity per person. Fred's to introduce early dining special
Fred's Food, Fun & Spirits will begin an early dining petite special from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays starting Jan. 2. The restaurant is at 2700 Immokalee Road, North Naples. The petite entrées cost $8.95 each and are served with a petite mixed green salad or eggless Caesar salad, a side of rice, pasta or potatoes and a vegetable. Petite choices include meatloaf, seafood pot pie, lemon chicken piccata, baked Atlantic salmon or chicken Parmesan. Information: 239-431-7928
Gyrene Burger has introduced the triple burger, which is fully loaded plus has a special sauce, for $7.99 for a limited time. They also are offering fresh and crispy wings with devil dog hot sauce for a limited time for $9.99 for nine wings. Closed at lunchtime
The Catch, 25000 U.S. 41 E., Port of the Islands, will not be serving lunch. The restaurant will be open from 4 to 10 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays. Brunch will be served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays, and then dinner service will be available from 4 to 10 p.m. The restaurant will feature pizza night on Wednesdays. Afternoon tea at Koreshan Site
Koreshan State Historic Site will be serving afternoon tea at 2 p.m. Jan. 8 at 3800 Corkscrew Road, Estero. The English tea includes finger sandwiches and treats in a 1900s outdoor setting. $25, includes park admission. Reservations are required and may be made by calling 239-992-0311.

Steak Cook-Off will be Jan. 26
The Sunshine State Steak Cook-Off and Family Festival will be held at 11 a.m. Jan. 26 at Ave Maria Town Center, 5076 Annunciation Circle, Ave Maria. The event features a parade, silent auction, live performance by the Quest Band at noon, entertainment by Casey Weston at 4:30 p.m. and steak dinners served at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $18 in advance for the steak dinner and $20 on the day of the event.
