ESTERO — The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus performers invited nearly one hundred children and their families from the Candlelighters of Southwest Florida to a private performance. Candlelighers is a charity that funds outings and activities for families of children affected by cancer and blood disorders. The show was held at Germain Arena with acts that included clowns, elephants, camels, horses, the “Wheel of Steel,” the “Globe of Steel,” a dog act, a “dual fusion hand balancing act” and acrobats to name a few. The Candleligthers of Southwest Florida is a local affiliate of the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation founded in 1983. The organization serves approximately 450 families in five counties — Lee, Charlotte, Collier, Hendry and Glades. Information: (239) 432-2223 or www.candlelightersswfl.org.
