Moorings concert set
Some 23 members of Opera Naples' Student Apprentice Program, ages 12 to 20 are planning an afternoon of music that ranges from Barbershop to Broadway, folk songs to modern opera.
"Opera Scenes with Teens" is a free concert at the Bower Chapel, located within the Moorings Park Community. Opera Naples' "O.N.E. Community" programs provide young people throughout the areawith access to the vocal art form. Its goal is foster an appreciation of opera
through education, hands-on experiences and quality performance.
Music director is Robin Shuford Frank and artistic director is Steffanie Pearce.

Piping hot music
The Hyacinth Series opens its new season with an indoor "concert in the park," celebrating Veterans Day with the powerful music of Jared Jacobsen on the organ and complete with a brass band, the Naples Chamber Brass. The Chamber Brass players are the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra's resident quintet, and organist Jacobsen presided has over two of the world's largest outdoor pipe organs, those of the Chautauqua Institution and San Diego's Balboa Park.

Month of hummingbirds
Fine art photographers Charles Fritsch and Cynthia Walpole of Bonita Springs will exhibit their images of the Hummingbirds of Costa Rica Friday, Nov. 2, to Nov. 29 at the Cape Coral Arts Studio located at 4533 Coronado Parkway, Cape Coral. The gallery is open 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Information: 239-574-0802
There will be reception on from 5 to 7 p.m. on Nov. 9. The reception and entry to the gallery are free and open to the public.
Foundation show opens
Southwest Florida Community Foundation's art exhibit of local juried art will open to the public from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2 from 4 to 6 p.m.
The exhibit is located in the Community Foundation's public spaces, located at its office at 8771 College Parkway, Building 2, Suite 201 in Fort Myers. It will include pieces on loan and for sale from 32 local artists and one organization.
Works range from photography and carved wood to textiles, fused glass and various sculptures, as well as traditional acrylic, watercolor and medium paintings. The exhibit was open to all artists from the foundation's five-county service area including Lee, Charlotte, Collier, Glades and Hendry as space allowed.
A share of the artworks' proceeds will be donated to the Fund for the Arts in Southwest Florida, which supports nonprofit art organizations in the area.
Sweet sounds by Edison
The Edison State College music department has announced its fall and spring concert dates for 2012-2013. All concerts are free and open to the public. They are at the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall, 8099 College Parkway Fort Myers.
The fall concert dates, all at 7:30 p.m., are:
