Kristi's Key Lime Cookies made locally by Kim Casciero of Be Happy Cakes were in offical Emmy gift bags given to news and documentary celebrites at Lincoln Center in New York City. The cookie is a vanilla cake-like base topped with a key lime icing. Locally are they available at the gift shops at the Naples Botanical Garden, Waldorf Astoria Naples and Naples Beach Hotel.
New pancake flavors
IHOP is featuring a trio of new fall flavored pancakes starting at $4.99 through January. It wouldn't be fall without pumpkins and these pumpkin pancakes are made with real pumpkin. You might like to eat dessert for dinner or lunch so try the New York cheesecake pancakes made with real cheesecake pieces and toped with glazed strawberries. The carrot cake pancakes sounds very interesting and is an oatmeal spice pancake featuring fresh apples, shredded carrots, coconut, raisins, walnut pieces and drizzled with cream cheese icing. McDonald's has added calorie counts to its in-store and drive-thru menus nationwide to help customers make nutrition-minded choices. The company now also includes an automatic offering of fruit in the Happy Meal and a choice of fat-free chocolate milk or 1 percent low fat milk and a smaller size of French fries. If customers prefer them may eliminate the fries and receive an additional bag of apple slices. Next year, the company is introducing egg-white McMuffin on a wheat muffin and a salad wrap.
Pollo Tropical is now serving the Caldo Gallego for a limited time. The dish is a white bean soup with ham, pork, choizo, potatoes and collard greens and is available in a cup or a bowl.
