Champions For Learning celebrate Take Stock in Children graduates

Champions For Learning is congratulating the 35 new graduates of the Take Stock In Children Scholarship and Mentoring Program.

The graduation was celebrated at a ceremony at the Bower Chapel at Moorings Park on April 23. Marianne Robinson, who has been mentoring since 2007, was recognized as Senior Mentor of the Year. Wilson Bradshaw, president of Florida Gulf Coast University, served as the keynote speaker.

This year’s graduating class was named for Willis and Joyce Heim, long-time champions for Take Stock in Children, who have supported 59 students during the years, including 18 this year.

Champions For Learning has been running the Collier County program since 1999, having served more than 400 students during the last 14 years. By the end of the 2012-2013 school year there will be 150 students in the program, including the newly inducted students. Information: (239) 643-4755 or
