Salim earns Prendergast Child Advocate of Year

Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida has awarded Nadereh Salim, CEO of the Children’s Network of Southwest Florida, with the 2013 Prendergast Child Advocate of the Year Award in recognition of her dedication to helping abused and neglected children.

Every April, in recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month, Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida and the Prendergast Family Endowment Fund host a lecture on child abuse and award an individual in the community for their commitment to prevention.

Salim received the 2013 Child Advocate of the Year award at the Golisano Children’s Hospital Pediatric Conference at Sanibel Harbour on April 20.

Salim’s career encompasses nearly 30 years of social service. In 2003, she became the Chief Operating Officer of the Children’s Network of Southwest Florida, and was promoted to CEO role in January 2007, assuming responsibility for more than 1900 children. With the help of a dedicated team of professionals, that number has been decreased to 1,400 children.
