The Southwest Florida Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure announced the recipients of 10 grants to nonprofit organizations providing education, screening, treatment and support to the medically underserved in Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Hendry and Glades counties.
The grant award ceremony took place at a luncheon at Vi at Bentley Village on April 17.
The grant application process ended in February 2013 for programs taking place from April 1, 2013 through March 31, 2014.
Seventy-five percent of the net proceeds raised by the affiliate remain at the local level, one of the factors enabling nonprofit organizations in Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Hendry and Glades counties to benefit from the grant distribution.
The grantees are Cancer Alliance of Naples, Family Health Centers, Healthcare Network of SWFL, Lee Memorial Regional Cancer Center, Lymphedema Resources, NCH Healthcare System, Neighborhood Health Clinic, Partners for Breast Cancer Care, Senior Friendship Centers and Virginia B.
