$25k grant will assist Greater Naples YMCA fundraising campaign

After a devastating Labor Day fire, plans are in motion to rebuild the Greater Naples YMCA, and a grand reopening is slated for September, 2014. While it may take months to settle insurance claims, the Y is not depending solely on insurance. According to YMCA CEO Paul Thein, this structural tragedy has created a unique opportunity to rebuild the Y in a way that better meets the modern needs of Collier County families. In response, the Community Foundation of Collier County awarded a grant of $25,000 toward hiring Certified Fundraising Executive John C. Riley of Riley Philanthropy.

Eileen Connolly-Keesler, President/CEO of the Community Foundation stated, “Our organization partnered with the YMCA as soon as we heard the devastating news, raising funds and awareness. The importance of the YCMA services in this community is immeasurable. Therefore, we will continue to work with Paul Thein and his team toward this integral fundraising goal. However, the capacity to raise $4 million in one year’s time is no easy feat. It was crucial to bring in an expert to spearhead the process”. Information: www.greaternaplesymca.org.
