More than 100 members of Shadow Wood Country Club participated in Florida Gulf Coast University’s men’s tennis celebration, The Eagles Have Landed.
The tournament included doubles, mixed doubles, singles and target tennis, beat the Eagles matches, a silent auction and a re-opening celebration of Shadow Wood Country Club’s recent $4.8 million expansion.
“Shadow Wood members were tremendously impressed with the FGCU players,” says Keith Butterfield, a participating SWCC member. “They were impressed with the students’ talents and even more impressed with how personable, poised and friendly the players were. FGCU should be very proud of how well these young men represented the university.”
Guests enjoyed a creative, on-court dinner and were able to bid on more than 20 silent auction lots. Procees from the celebration benefit Florida Gulf Coast University’s Men’s Tennis Eagles during their upcoming season. Information: (239) 590-7009 or www.fgcuathletics.com/mtennis/schedule/.
