Have you heard the saying, “being in the right place at the right time?” That is the main focus of the June/July The Journal.
This issue is all about location, location, location. We believe that venues serve an important role in any gathering. Venues can help enhance a theme and provide a scenic atmosphere for your guests.
Local charities have mastered crazy themes, extraordinary dishes, exotic entertainment and most importantly how to raise funds for their organization. But, many groups are thinking outside the ballroom and exploring different venue options. And, we love it.
Your creativity shouldn’t stop at your theme, food and decorations. You should put some serious thought into where your event will be held.
Our area offers some creative venue options for our out-of-the-box thinkers. And, several groups are utilizing those resources. Southwest Florida is home to venues that showcase our beautiful surroundings. And, one of the venues even floats on water. The Naples Princess offers event cruises that remind us how lucky we are to call Southwest Florida home. We get wrapped up in our busy lives and sometimes forget to look around and enjoy the beautiful sunsets, beaches and water. This venue puts you right in the middle of the action.
Another location that is a guest favorite is the Naples Botanical Gardens. This venue offers gorgeous scenery and can accommodate a large number of people. One of the newest hot spots is the Golisano Children’s Museum offering the chance for everyone to feel like a kid again.
Sports themes are extremely easy to pull off if you host it at Hammond Stadium. Your event is sure to be a home run among your guests. This locale is great for large-scale events too like races and tournaments.

I think one of the most important things to remember when making your venue selection is picking a place that is suitable for your event. Does it appeal to your target audience? Does it help portray your theme? You’ll need to think about the size of the facility and its availability. It is really important to tour the venue prior to signing any contracts. You’ll need to know your budget and guest list prior to that visit. Try to envision your event in the space. And, if you need help deciding bring in an expert or ask another committee member.
We have been so impressed by the events held so far and can’t wait to be introduced to all the new locales you’re using for your upcoming fundraisers.
