Builders Association make $5K donation

Representatives from Lee Building Industry Association (BIA) Builders Care have received a surprise donation of $5,000 from The Lee Building Industry Association (BIA) in honor of Michael Reitmann, who helped to spearhead the group’s effort to start a local Builders Care program back in 2005.

Reitmann retired from the Association on May 31 after 27 years of service. He will continue to serve on the Lee BIA Builders Care Board of Directors.

The donation will help with emergency construction repairs for local homeowners in need.

Builders Care is the nonprofit charitable arm of the Lee Building Industry Association (BIA). Its objective is to provide emergency repairs and construction services to elderly, disabled and economically disadvantaged people who are unable to obtain home repairs through traditional means. To date, Lee BIA Builders Care has put more than $2.4 Million in construction services back into the community at no cost to homeowners in need. Builders Care enlists the volunteer services of Lee BIA members and leverages grants and donated materials to provide construction and remodeling services to qualified homeowners throughout Lee County.
