Hope for Haiti recently participated in Rotary International’s Group Study Exchange, a program that provides cultural and vocational opportunity for young business professionals to be paired with rotary districts in different countries.
When local rotarian, Jim Rice asked Hope for Haiti to host Mayvis Gibus for a day, the organization gladly accepted. Mayvis is from Martinique, studied in France and holds a master’s degree in business administration and international relations. She is an economic affairs and development officer with an NGO which has initiated co-operation projects with Haiti in the framework of the reconstruction after their 2010 earthquake.
During her visit, she spent an hour with each Hope for Haiti staff member to learn about their goals and job responsibilities.
Hope for Haiti is a Naples, Florida, based nonprofit that has been committed to serving the Haitian people for more than 24 years with the mission to improve the quality of life for the Haitian people, particularly children, through education, nutrition, and healthcare.
