League Club awards $10K to CCMI pantry program

The League Club, Inc. recently awarded Community Cooperative Ministries, Inc. a $10,000 grant for its Bonita Springs Elementary School pantry program.

CCMI’s School pantry program provides food to families in need on-site at schools. This approach allows CCMI to provide more food to children including fresh meat and produce for the same cost because the caretaker actually picks up the food for the child and they do not have to fit items into a backpack.

The League Club, Inc. is a nonprofit organization of women in Southwest Florida that work to strengthen communities through fellowship, education, volunteerism and philanthropy. The League Club is open to women who have been or still are active members of a Junior League and are members of the Association of Junior Leagues International.

CCMI is an innovative nonprofit made up of social service entrepreneurs fighting to end homelessness and hunger in our community. The agency provides more than 15,000 meals each month. Information: (239) 332-7687 or www.ccmileecounty.com.
