The Naples-Pelican Bay Rotary Club is inviting artists to hit the pavement for Chalk Art 2014, the organization’s annual street painting extravaganza, on Saturday, January 25, 2014. Benefiting local Collier County charities and the Pelican Bay Rotary Scholarship Fund for local students, the popular event is free to the public and will take place along Fifth Avenue South in downtown Naples from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Matt Nolton & Mike Richardson, Co-Chairs of Chalk Art 2014 expect thousands of spectators to come “walk the chalk” as individuals and teams of amateur and professional artists transform Fifth Avenue into a colorful, half-mile long concrete canvas. The rain date is Sunday January 26. Registrations for sponsors and artists will be accepted through January 11, 2014.

Businesses can participate by purchasing a "canvas” – a 6-foot ($200), 9-foot ($300) or 12-foot square ($500) – which they, an artist of their choosing, or an artist provided to them by the Rotary Club can use to create a curbside masterpiece. A total of 140 artist squares are available, each bearing the name of the sponsoring business. Artists who wish to participate are encouraged to register and there is no charge for them to participate, they will be matched up with a sponsor and provided with all the materials needed to complete their artwork.

Businesses, Charitable Organizations or Individuals interested in sponsoring a square or have an artist who might like to participate should contact the Chalk Art 2014 Co-Chairman, Mr. Mike Richardson, mail completed form & check: 6027 Hollow Drive, Naples, Florida 34112 or scan & email (mrichardson@calusa-construction.com).
