Looking for something to do with the kids? Want to catch some of Southwest Florida’s best live bands? Maybe you need an exciting outdoor adventure?
You’ve come to the right place.
Starting this week, you’re going to notice some new features in the Daily News, on naplesnews.com and our mobile and tablet platforms. Our new “In the 239” franchise will be your go-to source for what’s happening in Southwest Florida. From music and arts to dining and outdoors, if it’s happening in the 239, you’ll find it here.
On Tuesdays, Leigh Tahirovic’s new Family Fun column will help parents scope out kid-friendly activities. On Fridays, Maryann Batlle is combing the local scene for the Top 5 weekend events. On Wednesdays, Tim Aten will continue to keep you up to date with the latest restaurant news with his popular In the Know column.
And starting this Friday, we are excited to launch our new “Sessions” music series, which will showcase the work of some of the best bands and musicians currently working in the 239. The first performance is by progressive bluegrass band, My Girl, My Whiskey & Me.
Of course, Harriet Heithaus and Chris Silk will continue to lead the community in reporting on the local arts and theater scene, and we will continue to offer the same thorough databases of restaurants, parks, venues and events that have always been part of our coverage.
