A foot stomping capacity crowd was on hand at the Norris Center in downtown Naples Saturday night for an evening of down-home, gospel and even a little 'newgrass' music by various local groups.

From the traditional bluegrass of Frontline and The Beanpickers to the indefinable but creative sounds of The Wholetones, the ambience was more Appalachian than Neapolitan; more mountain than beach. The concert, scheduled to end at 10PM, was still going at 10:30 p.m., as various musicians formed impromptu groups and continued to entertain an enthusiastic crowd.
