More than 200 people were transported via boat to Keewaydin Island to attend the Magic Under the Mangroves Patron Party celebration on Feb. 12. The “old Florida style” party was the precursor to the March 8 “Magic” main event, raising funds for the Conservancy of Southwest Florida. Patrons enjoyed Florida-influenced food available throughout various food stations, entertainment by JRobert, assorted wines and soft beverages, and a beautiful sunset. The windy and cool weather provided the perfect backdrop for hot chocolate and roasted marshmallows at the end of the event. The Magic Under the Mangroves event is recognized as one of the top fundraisers in the area. In 2011, the event raised more than $625,000. Information: (239) 403-4218 or www.conservancy.org/magic.
