On Saturday the last day of the 2011 calendar year, and into Sunday the first day of a new one the Coconut Point Shopping Mall went and came with an artistic splash. With artists from around the country and the area, was presented the New Year’s Eve Weekend Art Festival.

Thousands gathered at the beach behind the Marco Marriott before the sun came up Sunday morning for the 24th annual Easter dawn service.
The Saturday before Easter, the Easter Bunny got his turn for a big blowout, with families pouring into Mackle Park on Marco Island for the Spring Carnival, featuring an Easter egg hunt with 18,000 eggs.
