You could take a day trip to the Everglades and get chewed up by mosquitoes. Or you can visit this outpost to comfortably get your fill of regional specialties such as catfish, gator tail and frog legs, as well as more mainstream fare like baby back ribs, country fried steak, fried chicken livers and a mess of other good eats.
The specialty of the house is Southern-style cooking, with selections partly from the water and partly from the on-premises smokehouse. With a roll of paper towel on each table this is a place to roll of your sleeves and dig in.
Country music twangs in the background. A mixed bag clientele — from retirees down to young couples with kids and teens on a date — fill the casual dining area.
