This large sandbar on the north shore of New Pass is one of the few beaches in the region where dogs are allowed. It’s the perfect place to spend the day sunbathing with canine friends. Typically crowded on weekends. Nice spot to watch the sun set over New Pass and the Gulf of Mexico.
Pros: Plenty of free parking and beautiful scenery at nearby Lovers Key State Park.
Cons: No facilities. Dogs tend to use the bathroom in or near the water.
Likely visitors: Dog lovers.
Getting there: Heading north on Highway 41, make a left on Bonita Beach Road, which turns into Hickory Boulevard. Look for the Dog Beach sign on the left.
Parking: There is free parking at the beach entrance.
