With the Southwest Florida restaurant scene increasingly dominated by gimmicky places, there's something wholeheartedly refreshing about the Island Pancake House, a non-descript diner in Seagrape Plaza.
The Pancake House's menu is heavy on the familiar - omelettes, waffles, burgers, etc., with just a bit of signature flair - like pecan pancakes, creamed chipped beef served over an English muffin, and a deep fried clam sandwich.
Put it all together and you get real home cooking in a relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere. Throw in the fact that you'll have a hard time finding a cheaper lunch or breakfast anywhere in town, and you might just have to check this place out.
