Foodie's comments of 1-17-06 are either outdated or those of a disgruntled employee. As a local patron I find The Real Macaw to be a bright, friendly, and inviting place to spend a few hours of free time. The bartenders are great, as are the chefs, who cook up some of the freshest and best Caribbean dishes in town - all made to order - the only drawback to that being sometimes slower than expected service. The waitstaff are quite cordial and professional as well. The Real Macaw is one of the only places in town with live outdoor entertainment five nights a week (Tues-Fri). If you intend to go for dinner, however, its best to make reservations well in advance (at least during season) as it is a rather small venue and tends to fill up fast. If you didn't know better (because of the old fart Neapolitans' 10:00 p.m. music curfew), you would think you'd dropped in on the best little restaurant in the Florida Keys.
